I understand how difficult it can be finding a counsellor and coming to therapy for the first time. I also believe that having the right therapist is vital to successful counselling. Sometimes we can feel overwhelmed with the challenges in our lives and need a place where we can have some space to think about ourselves without fear of being judged or criticised.
We all have the answers within ourselves and by being listened to in a respectful way we can come up with our own solutions. There often isn’t a quick fix but by working together and allowing ourselves space and time, change is possible.
I am an experienced Accredited Counsellor/Psychotherapist with a Diploma in Humanistic Counselling. I work integratively which means I draw on a variety of theoretical models (including Person Centred, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Gestalt and Transactional Analysis) in order to meet the individual needs of each client in a unique and personal way. As a registered accredited member of BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) I work within their ethical framework for good practice.
I feel it is important to tailor the counselling sessions to suit the needs of the individual, working with creativity, compassion and consideration. I have my own experience of counselling and understand the courage it takes to reach out for support- so by reading this you have made the first step.
